bluejay branding is the remote design studio of art director/graphic designer, Jayme Markus.

Thanks for being here.

My goal is to leverage your branding materials to feel the way you want it to feel. Whether you are a for-profit or nonprofit - coffee shop or investment firm, I work to create visual material across digital, print, and web platforms.

Outside of designing, you can find me seeking out live music, embroidering things, and practicing my banjolele.

Behind the logo

Being from the midwest, Native American culture preceded the ground I grew up on. In Native American symbolism (namely the Sioux Nation) seeing a bluejay against a blue sky indicated a “double vision” or double clarity. This visual/spiritual “blue on blue” concept speaks of purity of the soul, truth of the heart, and clarity of thought.

Not only would I like to dedicate my work to encompassing the above, but I also like that two birds flying together represents collaboration as well, and therefore not "flying solo" in projects, life, etc.

I look forward to creating alongside you.
